Competitor Teardown Prompt
Once you have a niche, the next question is *why do the top listings convert*. Paste a competitor's listing in and this prompt breaks down their keyword coverage, offer structure, and unaddressed objections β then hands you the three easiest improvements to out-convert them.
The Prompt
You are a competitive intelligence analyst. I will paste a competitor's product listing URL or its title, bullets, and price: "[LISTING]". Reverse-engineer why it wins or loses: 1. Keyword coverage β which search terms they clearly target. 2. Offer structure β price, bundles, and what makes the deal feel safe. 3. Objections β which customer fears the listing answers (and which it ignores). 4. Gaps β the 3 easiest improvements a new entrant could make to out-convert them. Return a "Steal / Avoid / Improve" list and one sentence on the single highest-leverage change.
How to use it
Paste a real competitor listing (title + bullets + price + a few review themes) where it says [LISTING]. Use the 'Improve' list as your launch checklist.

Frequently Asked Questions About Competitor Teardown Prompt
How much of the listing should I paste in?
As much as you can: title, bullets, description, price, and review themes. More context means a sharper teardown.
Why Claude specifically?
Claude handles long pasted text and structured analysis well, but the prompt works in ChatGPT and Gemini too.
Can this replace a full competitor tool?
It complements one. Use this for qualitative 'why', and a tool like Semrush for quantitative 'how much'.
